The We Play for the Revolution Block Party celebrated community and Stallings Recreation Center’s revamped basketball court on St. Claude Ave. The event featured The New Orleans Pelicans mascot Pierre the Pelican and the PelSquad, the St. Augustine Purple Knights cheerleaders and community members. 

Monique Lorden was granted an opportunity to revamp a basketball court after the ‘NOLA Has Wiiings’ project. The artist chose Stallings Recreation Center because family ties. Lorden saw an opportunity to include the public. Members of the community and Lorden’s family helped paint and pour love into the basketball court. The block party officially unveiled the court.
